Meditation

Meditation is another form of yoga. And the most long lasting effect in your body, mind and soul. It has been adapted by the ancient Buddhists to help calm, relieve stress, tiredness, impatience, unhappiness and last but not least affects our health in a positive way. In this society its not easy to stay calm or be happy all the time, or even be patient with ourselves. Due to media, social networks ect.. Meditation has been the the best way to relieve everything for over 6000 years! Why is meditation so effective? It helps our mind to be peaceful, it allows us to think of ourselves for once and not to worry about things we cannot change. With many meditation sessions it is proven by mental health doctors that we will learn to be happy.

Steps for a well meditation session:
Choose a peaceful environment
Wear comfortable clothes
Stretch
Decide how long you want to meditate for
Sit in a comfortable position
Close your eyes
Control your breathing

I have done meditation before and I can honestly say it does exactly everything I've explained! I wish I had more time to do it more frequently because of how it has affected me. In my opinion anyone should consider meditation to get away from all your problems and have a positive mindset at the end of your session!
If you have meditated before let me know how you think about it! :)

The series of warrior poses (3)

The third and last variation of the warrior poses! I hope you enjoyed the other variations of the warrior poses, as I begin to develop warrior 3 with you. All the warrior poses have very similar benefits to each other.. Except for this one targets the abdominal organs which is the stomach, liver, pancreas and the intestines.

Warrior 3
Standing up
Step your left foot back into a high lunge position
Stretch your arms forward
Stay like for 30 seconds
Exhale

The last warrior pose was also a very challenging pose to conquer in my opinion. I kept falling out of pose because of my lack of balance but when I kept practicing my balance improved and so can yours! I hope you found this informational and want try it:)

The series of warrior poses (2)

We are now at the second last warrior pose. We call this one warrior 2 because it is in reference of the fierce warrior an incarnation of Shiva who is a Hindu mythical creature who is a great god. Anyways, back to our warrior pose it build a stamina and opens up your hips and chest.

Warrior pose 2
Standing up
Jump to spread your feet about 4ft long
Raise both arms parallel to the floor and turn your head to the left
Turn your left foot 90 degrees and bend

Make sure you perform this pose correctly as too it could cause some minor injuries to your ankles. In my opinion this pose was one of the most challenging ones I've done! I needed help at first but during the process I've noticed a difference in my ankle strength and how long I could hold this pose for! Any questions please comment :)
Thanks!

The series of warrior poses (1)

In the warrior pose series there are 3 and each one of them have their own benefits. It is the only pose in yoga who has a sequel. This pose improves your balance, agility and strengthens your arms, legs , back and abdominal areas.

How to warrior pose 1:
Start by standing up
Move your left foot sideways
Rotate your torso to the left
Bend your left knee
Raise both of your hands
Palms facing inwards and fingers stretched

This is a powerful and self demanding pose. It takes a lot to do this pose you must be very string minded and never give up. I think anyone can do this and because of how many steps they are in this pose it challenges your mind to exceed its limit!

Lotus pose

The lotus pose is ideal for meditation and concentration. Like in my last blog it goes with the hero position. The lotus pose has a lot of benefits such as giving a relaxing effect, increasing awareness and activeness stimulating body parts and processing finally it helps you keep or develop a good posture.

How to Lotus Pose
Sit down with your palms facing downwards
Hold either leg with your arm and pull it over until the thigh and reaches the groin
Repeat with the other leg

This is the most popular pose in yoga due to all its beneficial backgrounds.

I think the lotus pose is the most calming pose because you are sitting down and only focusing on yourself. I enjoy doing this pose!

Thanks :)

Hero Pose

The hero pose is one of the most basic seated yoga posture and is also excellent during meditation. The internal rotation to the upper legs and knees is the opposite to the movement of the lotus pose (which I will explain what is in my next blog!) It loosens up your hips to be prepared in your next pose which would be the lotus pose and acts as a mild counter pose. The hero pose is also the starting pose to the introduction of yoga. So to start off make you're not wearing any heaving clothes as it could start to get heavy and weigh you down.

How to hero pose :
Hands and knees on the ground
Sit between your feet by first supporting yourself with your hands
And still tall!

We call this move the hero pose because it teaches us how to sit with a little bit of pain and if you can tolerate it you known as a "hero"
I really like doing the hero pose in my opinion because it relaxes me and challenges me to keep going. I think it is one of the easiest poses to pull off in yoga!

Thanks for reading:)

The triangle pose

Hey guys! Today I am going to be talking the triangle pose. Otherwise known as Utthia Trikonsana. Unlike other yoga the postures, the triangle pose requires keeping your eye opened in order to maintain the body balanced.

To preform:
Separate your feet widely about 3 feel
With either arm reach all the way down to either leg
Inhale and exhale deeply.

There are many benefits to this pose like helps you improve digestion, removes anxiety, chest or back pains, increases your mental and physical equilibrium and stretches out your hips
Stay relaxed at all times

Although there are many benefits to this there are also some contradictions if you suffer from any health problems such as if you get migraines, have high or low blood pressure or neck and back injuries so make sure you consult your doctor before attempting this pose if you suffer from these problems.

This pose is although not one of my favorite poses but it does help my back as to I get frequent back aches I believe because I don't stretch as much and it relieves some of the pain.
